Wordy Wednesday

We FINALLY gots some sun today!  YAY!

on a different note......the vettie got my urinalysis back, and for the second time it was
high in protein.  So, she ran a more detailed test, and yes,  it was confirmed.

Nows, my bloods came back 'perfect' (of course, I could have told them THAT!)

Well, as luck would have it, the vettie had to go out of town for a week, and Ma hasn't talked to her yet abouts a detailed plan.

What is on the table is:

more urine tests over five days.
(yeah, Ma had enough troubles gettin' ONE sample! BOL!!!)

Starting a blood pressure medication to lower the protein

Omega-3 fishy stuffs to reduce the inflammation.
(If any of  you take this, Ma would loooooves to hear what you use!)

Nows, this sounds all ominous, butts I feel FABulous and my bloods are good
so the vettie is just being proactive to reduce further problems.

Butts, the waiting for the vettie to come up with a plan is driving Ma nutty!!!

I keep tellin' her to drink another margarita.....☺

  2. It's so hard to wait while your vet is away. Of course, your blood is perfect just like you, Ruby! I hope that you figure out a plan soon.

If you end up using fish oil, we use Naturemade Fish Oil, specifically the one that is certified by USP (so it's tested by an independent group). The Amazon link is: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GJVD1Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

R has to take lots and lots of fish oil, and we started reading about all the bad stuff in many kinds... so we decided to spend more on one that we knew was safe (that's the "USP" part).

Sending you POTP, Ruby. I'm glad that you feel just fine!

Well I would always favour the dietary management over ingestion of medicaments, so I hope that is the vettie's plan! Adding my precautionary POTP to the list! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  10. I take fish oil every day to help with my kidneys, Ruby! I used to just take the pills, but then Momma noticed that sometimes I'd throw up hours later and the pills were still intact, so she didn't know how well I was absorbing them. So she started poking a little hole in the bottom of the pill and squirting the oil on my food instead. It sure tastes yummy!

    1. We've all taken fish oil daily for years. We love it and even like to crunch them to get the good fishy taste. Just be sure your Mom gets the kind that is "molecularly distilled" to remove all the junk. Mom buys ours at Wondelabs online. If you want any info, just drop us an email.

  11. Joey dog used to get a pat of butter or a spoonful of olive oil daily for his dry skin when he was older. He never liked the fishy oil stuff, and it set off his allergies.

  12. Rubs my friend. I'll try to keep this short (mom can be long winded). I had my first ever UTI Oct 2016. Girlfriend it was no fun and talk about freaking out mom saw blood and commenced a blood curdling cry to Dad we're going the the ER VET NOW!
That woman can squeal. Anyhoo. That is quite your problem but all the UTI stuffs was treated with antibiotics and we got that under control. How ever my pp kept having itty bitty specks of blood in it. Mom didn't catch mine though the vet stole it. Vet said probably due to all the irritation from the UTI.
So finally in January my vet said he wanted me on an anti inflammatory med. Mom cringed as I am HORRIBLE at pilling. Vet said oh it isn't oral it is an weekly injection of Adequan, which is a human med that many with chronic UTI's take for inflammation. Well my vet is 5 min from here so Mom said okey dokey I can bring Madi in once a week. Vet says OHHHHH NOOOOOO we will teach you how to do it. After mom got up off the floor, Vet says it is easy. Lo and behold you can teach an old gray mare new tricks. The injection is given in the scruff of my neck. Mom even does it when I'm sleeping...I give her an evil eye for disturbing my dreams but what the heck at least she is cramming her fingers down my throat.

So Adequan may not be affect for your type inflammation but we thought we'd throw it out there. And of course we are not suggesting you 'tell' your vet what to do. Holy Moly that would just be W R O N G!! Sorry this was so long!!
Hugs and keep us posted Madi your bfff
