I'll Get It!

Okay puppers and kittehs,

sit down and grab a chewie and a margarita

I gots a little story to tell....

It all happened yesterday......

Ma was sitting in MY  her favorite chair,

peeling a most juicy and delicious orange.

When....

All of a sudden she felt something on her arm....

(now, since there are no pictures of the incident ~
I do not have thumbs, hence cannot hold a camera...much to Ma's delight....
I have drawn ~ with MY OWN PAWS ~ pics of the event)

I've never heard such hysteria!!

You would thinks she was ALLERGIC to wasps or something!!

Oh wait......

she IS!

Nows, Ma figured out that that nasty wasp got in

through the broken weather strip on the screen door.

She has duct taped it (cause duct tape fixes EVERYTHINGS!!! BOL ),
until she can gets a new weather strip this week.

Oh, and don't worry....

Ma got the wasp before it got her!

Just sayin'.....

Oh, and the orange was DELICIOUS!!
(well, the few bites I got before Ma took it away...pffffft!)

Don't forget GURLS........

Check out Dory's Bloggie for all the details!!!!

Gurls RULE,  boys DROOL!!!!

(well, except for my stud muffin Murphy...♥♥♥)

  1. Rubes, that is a great story!! You are a hero, I am sure you running for the orange distracted the wasp and made him get away from your Mom. I LOVE oranges, I mean I LOVE them, I go nuts and drool when Mommy has one. I am glad you got some of it at least. I think after all that you should have gotten the whole thing. Just sayin...

  5. Well....a camera would have been great, but we think we can catch the drama of the situation in the drawings. Glad your mum didn't get stung AND that you saved the orange!

  9. Glad you were there to rescue that orange... fruits are much more impawtant than wasps... Isn't that amazing, that with the first sunrays the evil critters are back too? Fortunately your mom won that battle...Congrats! Ruby's Mom 1 Wasp 0... hope the score of the whasp will be always 0

  10. Ruby, my Boo, I am so glad you kept that orange from being contaminated by the wasp! I hope your mom gave you a treat to reward you! I felt you looking at the stars last night so I stared really hard back at them and I read you an Emily Dickinson love poem:

    Wild Nights – Wild Nights!
    Were I with thee
    Wild Nights should be
    Our luxury!

    Futile – the winds –
To a heart in port –
    Done with the compass –
    Done with the chart!

    Rowing in Eden –
    Ah, the sea!
    Might I moor – Tonight –
    In thee

I hope you like the poem. I thought it was better than the one I wrote:

I saw my love, and wondered what was to be?
I never knew one as lovely as my Ruby.
Her beautiful snout, so full of slobber,
When it comes to my heart, she is my robber.
So I will stare at the stars and hold her near,
Until I am rejoined with my Ruby dear.

Tonight I will star at the stars again and hold you in my heart my Boo!

    XOXOXOXOXO

  16. Absolutely LOVE the comic strip Ruby! If there is anything our mum hates it is wasps, anyone who tells you they only sting you if you bother them is a big lion. Mum has the stings to prove it!

  17. GASP!!!! I would have completely lost my mind too! I also, loathe wasps. What are they good for? They just go flying around, being angry all the time, just looking for someone to sting repeatedly to get their jollies. Although I am just as afraid of bees. Our bees here are also jerks and fly around angry just waiting for the slightest reason to sting someone.

Speaking of stinging, flying things...someone I work with just came up to me with a big bee in his hand!!! He thought it was cool cause it so much larger than a regular bee. He wanted to show it to me! It's dead, but still...you never know. I found him a plastic case to put the bee in so it is now contained. Crisis averted. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have yet another bee nightmare tonight (probably a wasp one too, so thanks for that) anyway. I have to admit that the bee was fuzzy and cute. I'm also glad it wasn't alive.

  24. OMW! You are so brave to save the wasp attracting orange for your mom. I enjoy chasing wasps and bees. Yes, I have been stung multiple times. My face swells up like a balloon and Mom freaks out but I still snap at them every spring and summer. I do NOT learn my lessons. ☺ Your pal, Bentley

  28. It's still too cold around here for flying insects. We might see a stinkbug or two as it gets warmer and they come out of hiding. Ghostwriter is not afraid of wasps and bees. She tries to take pictures of them. I hope the orange was good!

  29. Anger is as a stone cast into a wasp's nest.
Glad that wasp was not angry and did not bring the nest down on you.
Great detail in the drawings Ruby.
