Okay puppers and kittehs,
sit down and grab a chewie and a margarita
I gots a little story to tell....
It all happened yesterday......
Ma was sitting in
MY her favorite chair,
peeling a most juicy and delicious orange.
All of a sudden she felt something on her arm....
(now, since there are no pictures of the incident ~
I do not have thumbs, hence cannot hold a camera...much to Ma's delight....
I have drawn ~ with MY OWN PAWS ~ pics of the event)
I've never heard such hysteria!!
You would thinks she was ALLERGIC to wasps or something!!
Nows, Ma figured out that that nasty wasp got in
through the broken weather strip on the screen door.
She has duct taped it (cause duct tape fixes EVERYTHINGS!!! BOL ),
until she can gets a new weather strip this week.
Oh, and don't worry....
Ma got the wasp before it got her!
Oh, and the orange was DELICIOUS!!
(well, the few bites I got before Ma took it away...pffffft!)
Don't forget GURLS........
Check out Dory's Bloggie for all the details!!!!
Gurls RULE, boys DROOL!!!!
(well, except for my stud muffin Murphy...♥♥♥)
Rubes, that is a great story!! You are a hero, I am sure you running for the orange distracted the wasp and made him get away from your Mom. I LOVE oranges, I mean I LOVE them, I go nuts and drool when Mommy has one. I am glad you got some of it at least. I think after all that you should have gotten the whole thing. Just sayin...ReplyDelete
Finley woulda been all over dat orange too. I don't see da apPEEL myself.ReplyDelete
Gosh, I am afraid of wasps!ReplyDelete
Lucky you mum didn't get stung!ReplyDelete
Lucky you got some orange!
Well....a camera would have been great, but we think we can catch the drama of the situation in the drawings. Glad your mum didn't get stung AND that you saved the orange!ReplyDelete
OMD, we were rolling on the floor laughing at your story, Ruby, and it has such a great ending! Your mom is just fine and you got the orange. Yay!ReplyDelete
Love ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
It is kind of a funny story, but our mama can relate because she is allergic to bees! Hope you both got to enjoy a Margarita after!! xo Chloe and LadyBugReplyDelete
oMD OMD OMD RUBY.... you SAVED the ORANGE from that worrisome wasp. That is so fabulous. We are SURE the Orange appreciated your Valiant Effort to keep it SAFE.ReplyDelete
We Love DUCK tape... it is right up there with WD-40... those two thingys can fix ANYTHINGY...
PeeS... We are REALLY glad that your mom didn't get stung... she might not have been able to fix your supper if she had.
Glad you were there to rescue that orange... fruits are much more impawtant than wasps... Isn't that amazing, that with the first sunrays the evil critters are back too? Fortunately your mom won that battle...Congrats! Ruby's Mom 1 Wasp 0... hope the score of the whasp will be always 0ReplyDelete
Ruby, my Boo, I am so glad you kept that orange from being contaminated by the wasp! I hope your mom gave you a treat to reward you! I felt you looking at the stars last night so I stared really hard back at them and I read you an Emily Dickinson love poem:ReplyDelete
Wild Nights – Wild Nights!
Were I with thee
Wild Nights should be
Futile – the winds –
To a heart in port –
Done with the compass –
Done with the chart!
Rowing in Eden –
Ah, the sea!
Might I moor – Tonight –
I hope you like the poem. I thought it was better than the one I wrote:
I saw my love, and wondered what was to be?
I never knew one as lovely as my Ruby.
Her beautiful snout, so full of slobber,
When it comes to my heart, she is my robber.
So I will stare at the stars and hold her near,
Until I am rejoined with my Ruby dear.
Tonight I will star at the stars again and hold you in my heart my Boo!
Your Stud Muffin,
Murphy (and his brother Monkey Buns)
BOL good thing you saved that orange.ReplyDelete
Aroo to you,
We forgot what we were gonna say after reading Murphy's poemsReplyDelete

I never messed with a wasp or hornet and they've never messed with me.ReplyDelete
Wasps are the thugs of the insect world , always spoiling for a fight!ReplyDelete
Good job you were there guarding Mom!
Loves and licky kisses

Absolutely LOVE the comic strip Ruby! If there is anything our mum hates it is wasps, anyone who tells you they only sting you if you bother them is a big lion. Mum has the stings to prove it!ReplyDelete

GASP!!!! I would have completely lost my mind too! I also, loathe wasps. What are they good for? They just go flying around, being angry all the time, just looking for someone to sting repeatedly to get their jollies. Although I am just as afraid of bees. Our bees here are also jerks and fly around angry just waiting for the slightest reason to sting someone.ReplyDelete
Speaking of stinging, flying things...someone I work with just came up to me with a big bee in his hand!!! He thought it was cool cause it so much larger than a regular bee. He wanted to show it to me! It's dead, but still...you never know. I found him a plastic case to put the bee in so it is now contained. Crisis averted. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have yet another bee nightmare tonight (probably a wasp one too, so thanks for that) anyway. I have to admit that the bee was fuzzy and cute. I'm also glad it wasn't alive.
Oh no, poor Mom - that must have been so frightening for her!!! Mom says the sting from a wasp REALLY stings. Hope the duct tape keeps those intruders OUT!!!ReplyDelete
Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
Yep...Dad says Duct tape is the best thing every invented....did Mom get stinged?...hope she can still lift her are for a Margarita....that will kill any pain!ReplyDelete

Mom's always over re-act to the simplest thingsReplyDelete
Thank you so much for the detailed illustration of this scary event! I'm so glad no person or dog was harmed...and you got a few bites of a tasty orange!ReplyDelete
Those wasp are scary,.ReplyDelete
I am glad you were able to save the orange.
Your mom should relax with a margarita tonight.
Wow, I can picture the whole scene! Love the drawings and I can almost hear your Mom screeching. Glad she wasn't stung and I'm glad you got a little nibble on that orange too. BOLReplyDelete
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, Police Commish
OMW! You are so brave to save the wasp attracting orange for your mom. I enjoy chasing wasps and bees. Yes, I have been stung multiple times. My face swells up like a balloon and Mom freaks out but I still snap at them every spring and summer. I do NOT learn my lessons. ☺ Your pal, BentleyReplyDelete
What an awesome cartoon strip of yor adventure Ruby. We are sooooo glad that you saved the orange!!ReplyDelete
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
PeeEss...Mama says she is glad that your Mama did not get stung!
Our mom is also allergic...she can get mighty uptight when there is a bee or wasp in the vicinity.ReplyDelete
Wally & Sammy
RUBY OH MY DOGS THAT WAS ONE FINE RE-ENACTMENT!! DEAR ME YOU TO MAKE A CHOICE ON WHO/WHAT TO SAVE THE ORANGE WAS A GOOD CHOICE SINCE YOUR MOM PROBABLY BURST THE WASP EARS WITH HER HYSTERIA RENDERING IT HELPLESSReplyDelete
HUGS MADI YOUR BFFF
It's still too cold around here for flying insects. We might see a stinkbug or two as it gets warmer and they come out of hiding. Ghostwriter is not afraid of wasps and bees. She tries to take pictures of them. I hope the orange was good!ReplyDelete
Anger is as a stone cast into a wasp's nest.ReplyDelete
Glad that wasp was not angry and did not bring the nest down on you.
Great detail in the drawings Ruby.
Sweet William The Scot
I'm so glad that your mom is okay. Ruby - you should protect your mom rather than eating the orange. Just sayin'...ReplyDelete
Hee hee, glad your mom survived. Since we had "no winter" out west, we think it's going to be a BUGGY year. We are having a Stink Bug invasion :(ReplyDelete
Wyatt and Stanzie
