Wordy Wednesday Walkies

Why am I sitting, and not walking?

Wells, Ma says we have to have 'Sidewalk Etiquette'.
You see, some peeps aren't comfortable around dogs (I KNOWS! weird),
so when we see someone coming towards us,
Ma pulls me into a driveway and has me 'sit and stay'.

So the peep can walk by without me scaring them.
(see the peep keeping their distance? it's a good example of someone not comfortable)

Ma says it's just the courteous thing to do.

Plus, I gets to practice my 'sit and stay' and gets a treatie!

win-win!

  6. We do the same thing when walking Big Boy, he is big and black and some people are scared of him. we can tell by the way they walk and look.. we do the same thing, sit and stay or sometimes we just move to the other side of the street if there is no driveway.. I have two friends that are afraid of dogs, any dog.

  11. We always get dragged off the path when people come towards us....and we have to wait. But that's probably because Dui has bitten people in the past, and we tend to lunge if there is another dog involved. SHE says we're getting better. We can see you have good manners.

  18. I hope your ma doesn't deny those peeps who are jonesing for a fluffy tail wagging greeting. That'd be a real shame. And I hope she gives you a treat each time you wait.

  21. Charlee: "Ruby, how could anyone be scared of a sweet pretty girl like you?"
Chaplin: "Yes, they should be scared of really scary things. Like vacuum cleaners."
Charlee: "But we're happy there are treats in it for you!"
Chaplin: "Beware! Beware the vacuum cleaners!"

  22. That is exactly what Mom does to me! I mean, bark like a mad dog at a few folks and suddenly you have to be distracted when someone walks by. SMH At least we do score some delicious treats! Hee hee hee!
