  2. SHE is so envious. It's the one bird SHE misses from Virginia. We have loads of parrots, budgies, wrens....you name it. But SHE loves the little Humminbirds. You are so lucky.

  5. Oh how cool!!!! I used to get doves that would nest in my yard but I think they got tired of me taking close up pictures of them and so they don't come anymore...now there is just an empty nest.

You are very kind to help them out when they fall out of the nest!

  6. Oooo, what a cool thing to have in your very own backyard :-) Hummingbirds are beautiful and so fun to watch! You should definitely go to Santa Cruz with your Ma, just imagine that ocean breeze..aw! I've never been there but it sounds similar to Monterey (that I love)! Just remember that Capitola isn't very pup friendly, weirdos, I know!! ;-)

  9. Hey Ruby!
Wow, what a fun furiend to have sharing your territory! I get lots of them around my deck in the Summer, but I've never seen a nest. NEAT! I get to see a nest of robins hatch and grow, but never a hummer. Please let us see pix as they hatch and grow! :)

  10. Ruby that is sooooooo COOL! Spring just has to be right around the corner. I love hummingbirds. When I wear my read collar they buzz me. It cracks MOM up. I told her it's because I am so sweet that's why they buzz me.

  11. We have hummers in a couple of different species. I've never seen a nest, but there's so much open space, it could be well hidden.

  12. That is so cool! We don't expect our hummingbirds to return for a few months. One always nests in our yard, but we have never found her nest. Please keep us updated with pictures as the babies progress.

  13. Well, we've hardly had winter here but I guess the humans will be glad for spring. Good job helping those humming birds with their eggs. My, they need to be more careful!

  14. We won't see hummers for another month if they follow their usual schedule. Our Mom loves to watch them.

Mom says that Portie puppies look just like Old English and Bearded Collie puppies. Sometimes she can't tell which is which in pictures. We're glad that Norma Jean brings back happy memories for your Mom.

  27. Spring is coming soon? Oh no!!!! No wonder our trees are starting to shed. Poo.

Your birds are much nicer than ours. The Typist rescued a baby bird once and got attacked by the momma bird for weeks after.
