New Nest

Hey puppers and kittehs,  BIG NEWS!!   There I was doin' my hourly check of my yardie, makin' sure all is free of tree rats, and the such, when I saw this....

LOOKIE!!  The start of a New Nest!!!

See, I don't thinks the birdie could decide which side she wanted, so I thinks she was buildin' condos!!  BOL  (okays, not really....)

And you see where the Hummingburd is building it's nest??!!
Can you believes it???  What a coincidence is that?!
The only problems is, it's pretty low hanging, so everytimes someone walks by the birdie gets all scared and flys comes back pretty quick, butts still, I thinks the birdie needs a lesson in location, location, location....

Don't worries everyone, I'll keep em' safe....
                           (Ma said no tasting!!  BOL)

  1. Maybe she saw the picture and thought it meant "Hummingbirds build here". Too bad she didn't look for a safer spot but we know you'll make sure she and her babies are safe.
Morgan, Sebastian, the Porties, Syd and Mac

  2. that is so cool - does your mom leaves you fur out for the birdies to use like out mom does?

  3. We have them here also. They seem unafraid unless I get really close. Those wings certainly make a distinct noise.

  4. Maybe Ruby, you need to move the walk past the hummer nest until after the babies are gone. Wouldn't be the first time someone did that!

    Stella and Zkhat

  5. You is right! In real estate, especially condos...location is what it's all bouts. I wonders if Mrs. Birdie (if her is married) will has a bar. Then again, her is havin' babies so prolly not.
You must look out fur hers since her condo ain't in a good location, gonna be lots goin' on in her ' squirrels!

  6. Ruby, please repeat after ME, I AM NOT A CAT, I AM NOT A CAT, and the birdie will be safe, we hope!

  7. Muahaha, I think with all your new birdie tenants, you need to start charging some major rents! It's only fair!! ;-) You might get some more cookies out of it!? Hehe! Have fun watching them come and go Ruby!!

  8. Hmmm, so there must be something wonderful about your location if all the birdies want to be there. What is that where they are building the nest ? It is very pretty.

Lightning wants you to know that he HAD found something under the deck, but Mom spoiled his fun. She doesn't want us to go into any more detail than that. But he is now busy looking for something else exciting to get into:)

Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

  9. Better haves a talk wit dat birdie. Her choice of location really stinks. Whatever happened to the days when birdies built there homes UP in the trees???

  10. OMD that is so exciting. She chose the hummer spinner to build her nestS on. THAT is pretty cool. WE hope that she selects a side and STAYS and has babies so we can watch it all. We LOVE that STUFFS... Just Love it!!! Keep us posted on how the nest buildingS go.

  11. We know you'll take good care of those birdies. She may have to look for another spot, though.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

  12. That'll be a fun place for the baby birds to spin around in if the nest gets finished!
I love your big cheesy smile Ruby!
    Pippa :)

  13. Please get some photos of those birds!

  14. Hummingbirds are so social, why I have had them build a nest down low enought by my porch that I could look in when I sat in my rocking chair and they never moved. I think that is a great colorful place for a modern bird to built.
    Thanks for being a friend
    Sweet William The Scot

  15. What a beautiful garden ornament and perfect location for the hummingbird, except for the fact that people and dogs think they can rush past her place :) Maybe she'll become tamer and learn to tolerate it all.

  16. Lucky dog! Make sure to keep an eye on things Ruby!

  17. Hi Ruby you are so right about the birdies they are quirky....mol!!! Mr. Eastern Bluebird is the nest builder here. Once it is built he sends Mrs. Eastern Bluebird a tweet...she comes over to check out his skills and the location. We have a BB house in the yard. It is near a bird bath and a feeding station. Which according to mom is the purrfect location. But sometimes Mrs. EBB is very very very picky.

Good job on tree Rat patrol
    Hugs madi your BFFF

  18. Ruby, I am sure they feel safer with you around. I am thinking the birdy loved the decoration and it was too perfect to pass up. It will look great in their family photos. You are looking as cute as ever.

  19. Ruby,
I think everyone wants to live in your backyard bc you are such a good security dog!
My laugh out loud about the bunny tail!

  20. What a perfect spot for her nest! How did the mommy birdie know that it was meant for a hummer?!
We love your rainbow heart background, Ruby. It's so pretty!

    Love ya lots,
    Mitch and Molly

  21. That's very cool! We've never seen a hummingbird nest before. You'll have to keep us posted (eggs, babies, etc.)!

    your pal,

  22. Well, Miss Ruby, it certainly is nifty the way hose birds can weave together stuff and make a house. I do wonder about the location of the hummingbird nest. Seems like a high traffic zone. Hope the baby birds don't take a tumble and fall into your mouth.

  23. Oh Ruby, that is just fabulous, Daddy said he would give his right, not left arm to see that..Bawahhaaaa keep us posted on all the progress :) Hugs xx00xx

    Mollie and Alfie

  24. That's awesome, Ruby! Birds do choose some odd places for nests sometimes. We hope you'll keep us posted about this nest.

    Susan and Wrigs

  25. I hope the birdies got more padding than that for their nest! That spiral thingy looks HARD.
