New Nest

Hey puppers and kittehs,  BIG NEWS!!   There I was doin' my hourly check of my yardie, makin' sure all is free of tree rats, and the such, when I saw this....

LOOKIE!!  The start of a New Nest!!!

See, I don't thinks the birdie could decide which side she wanted, so I thinks she was buildin' condos!!  BOL  (okays, not really....)

And Look....do you see where the Hummingburd is building it's nest??!!
Can you believes it???  What a coincidence is that?!
The only problems is, it's pretty low hanging, so everytimes someone walks by the birdie gets all scared and flys away...it comes back pretty quick, butts still, I thinks the birdie needs a lesson in location, location, location....

Don't worries everyone, I'll keep em' safe....
                           (Ma said no tasting!!  BOL)

  1. Maybe she saw the picture and thought it meant "Hummingbirds build here". Too bad she didn't look for a safer spot but we know you'll make sure she and her babies are safe.

  3. We have them here also. They seem unafraid unless I get really close. Those wings certainly make a distinct noise.

  4. Maybe Ruby, you need to move the walk past the hummer nest until after the babies are gone. Wouldn't be the first time someone did that!

  5. You is right! In real estate, especially condos...location is what it's all bouts. I wonders if Mrs. Birdie (if her is married) will has a bar. Then again, her is havin' babies so prolly not.
You must look out fur hers since her condo ain't in a good location, gonna be lots goin' on in her 'hood...like squirrels!

  8. Hmmm, so there must be something wonderful about your location if all the birdies want to be there. What is that where they are building the nest ? It is very pretty.

Lightning wants you to know that he HAD found something under the deck, but Mom spoiled his fun. She doesn't want us to go into any more detail than that. But he is now busy looking for something else exciting to get into:)

  14. Hummingbirds are so social, why I have had them build a nest down low enought by my porch that I could look in when I sat in my rocking chair and they never moved. I think that is a great colorful place for a modern bird to built.
    Thanks for being a friend

  15. What a beautiful garden ornament and perfect location for the hummingbird, except for the fact that people and dogs think they can rush past her place :) Maybe she'll become tamer and learn to tolerate it all.

  17. Hi Ruby you are so right about the birdies they are quirky....mol!!! Mr. Eastern Bluebird is the nest builder here. Once it is built he sends Mrs. Eastern Bluebird a tweet...she comes over to check out his skills and the location. We have a BB house in the yard. It is near a bird bath and a feeding station. Which according to mom is the purrfect location. But sometimes Mrs. EBB is very very very picky.

Good job on tree Rat patrol

  18. Ruby, I am sure they feel safer with you around. I am thinking the birdy loved the decoration and it was too perfect to pass up. It will look great in their family photos. You are looking as cute as ever.

  22. Well, Miss Ruby, it certainly is nifty the way hose birds can weave together stuff and make a house. I do wonder about the location of the hummingbird nest. Seems like a high traffic zone. Hope the baby birds don't take a tumble and fall into your mouth.

    Kisses,
